We are excited to introduce the latest release from BPS Knives — the Aura knife, a limited series of only 200 pieces. This knife was designed based on the classic Finnish knife, which has a long and rich history. Finnish knives have been used for centuries by hunters, fishermen, and farmers for a variety of tasks, from woodworking and tool-making to food preparation and hunting. Their reliability and versatility have made them a symbol of Finnish culture and tradition.
The Name
We wanted a name that had a connection to Finland, so we chose “Aura.” Aura is a river in Finland that flows through the city of Turku, one of the oldest cities in the country. The Aura River holds special significance for locals, symbolizing nature, life, and tranquility.
The name “Aura” also has another meaning. In both English and Ukrainian, “aura” signifies an atmosphere or quality that surrounds a person or thing. We chose this concept to inspire the primary color of our knife handle — a vibrant blue. A blue aura symbolizes clarity, calmness, and purity.

N690 Steel
The blade of the Aura knife is crafted from N690 stainless steel, which is regarded as a premium-grade steel. N690 steel contains chromium, molybdenum, and vanadium, providing high hardness (58-60 HRC) and strength. With a high chromium content (17%), the steel offers excellent corrosion resistance, making it ideal for various environments. Molybdenum and vanadium enhance the steel’s durability and wear resistance, ensuring a long-lasting blade.
Blue Micarta Handle
The handle of the Aura knife is made from blue micarta, a material known for its durability, moisture resistance, and wear resistance. Our unique manufacturing process ensures that the handle provides a comfortable and secure grip even in wet conditions. The blue color symbolizes calmness and clarity, giving the knife a distinctive look.
Leather Sheath with Clip
The Aura knife comes with a handmade leather sheath. The sheath features a versatile clip that can be repositioned on either side, allowing you to carry the knife on your gear or in your pocket.
