When you’re surrounded by the Carpathians and holding a reliable tool in your hand, you feel ready for any adventure. That’s exactly how we see our knives — not just as an accessory, but as a symbol of endurance, reliability, and true outdoor culture.
Thanks to our collaboration with the travel club Kuluar and their guide Ivan, we had the opportunity not only to test our knives in real conditions, but to raise them to real heights — both physically and symbolically.
📍Hiking Route:
The hike took place in the very heart of the Chornohora Ridge — one of the most breathtaking areas of the Ukrainian Carpathians, along the route:
Prut stream — Nesamovyte Lake — Mt. Rebra (2001 meters) — Shpytsi — Hadzhyna Meadow — Maryshevska Meadow — and back to the Prut stream, which flows from the slopes of Chornohora.
This wasn’t just a hike — it was a true challenge for our knives: testing durability, comfort, and functionality. And it was here — amid rain, wind, and cold — that BPS Knives truly proved themselves.

What does the guide say about the BPS Knives after the hike?
“Authentic, well-crafted — they have the feel of a real working knife made for the wild. They look great, they’re practical, comfortable, and reliable,”
— says Ivan, guide from the Kuluar travel club.
Beyond basic tasks like preparing food, cutting vegetables, or trimming branches, the knives were actively used in more demanding situations. They held up excellently against water, cold, and dirt. The cutting edge remained sharp, and the blade was easy to clean, even in field conditions.
The handle sits comfortably in the hand and doesn’t slip — a critical feature when working in the rain or with gloves.
Ivan also mentioned that the knives drew interest from other participants of the trek. They sparked discussions, were passed around, compared — and ultimately returned with the words: “Well made.”

A Knife That Can Handle Anything
This Carpathian hike proved once again that a knife is not a secondary piece of gear — it’s an essential tool that must withstand altitude and serious challenges.
At BPS Knives, we don’t just make tools — we craft trusted travel companions that are ready to go beyond the comfort zone.
“These knives can confidently be recommended as working tools for hiking, travel, hunters, and mushroom foragers,”
— Ivan notes.
This hike was just one chapter. But for us, it confirmed we’re on the right path. Every climb, every camp, every photo is proof that a Ukrainian-made knife can reach the summit — and not just the geographical one.
We sincerely thank guide Ivan and the entire Kuluar team for their trust, support, and this excellent collaboration. Thanks to people like them, BPS Knives end up exactly where they belong — in real adventures.
