Product description
Aurora – the blade of the north
The Aurora knife is a fixed blade EDC knife designed as a practical tool for different conditions, where control, predictable performance, and comfort in hand matter most. The knife is not tied to a single scenario and is intended for a calm, steady working rhythm.
Aurora is a compact outdoor fixed blade knife and a universal camping knife, where form and construction are fully subordinated to function.
Design in the style of Finnish traditions
The shape of the Aurora knife corresponds to the classic principles of Finnish puukko. Such a knife is characterized by: a compact blade without a pronounced guard, a straight or slightly convex butt line, a symmetrical handle without protrusions, an orientation towards a working grip and the absence of decorative elements that do not carry a functional load.
VG-10 Blade: controlled, precise cutting
The blade of the Aurora knife is made from VG-10 stainless steel with a hardness of 58–59 HRC — a proven Japanese alloy widely used in outdoor and EDC knives.
Thanks to its uniform microstructure, VG-10 provides a blade that:
- retains sharpness for extended periods;
- delivers clean and controlled cuts;
- remains stable under normal working loads.
A blade length of 80 mm makes Aurora a versatile outdoor utility knife, suitable both for precise tasks and for general outdoor and camping use. The 3 mm spine thickness adds stability and confidence in cutting without sacrificing control.
G10 Handle: secure and consistent grip
The Aurora handle is made from G10, a composite material based on fiberglass laminate, valued in the knife industry for its stability and wear resistance. It is not affected by moisture, does not absorb odors, and does not react to temperature changes, allowing the knife to be used reliably in varied environments.
The 98 mm handle length is chosen to match the natural position of the hand, providing a secure grip without unnecessary tension and maintaining stability during cutting and precision work.
Full Tang construction: integrity and balance
The Aurora is made with a Full Tang design, in which the blade passes through the entire handle along its entire length. This approach ensures the integrity of the knife and even load distribution during work.
Kydex sheath: control and quick access
Aurora comes with a Kydex sheath, made from a modern thermoplastic that combines light weight with high durability.
Key advantages of the Kydex sheath:
- resistant to moisture and temperature changes;
- securely holds the knife without play;
- provides quick and intuitive access to the knife.
With a sheath weight of 40 g, Aurora can be used as a lightweight fixed blade knife or carried as part of basic everyday or camping gear without added bulk.
Lanyard hole
The handle has a hole for a lanyard, improving control of the knife during work and increasing safety in use. The lanyard helps to hold the knife more securely in the hand, reduces the risk of accidental slippage, and also makes it easier to remove the knife from the sheath.
What tasks is Aurora suitable for?
Aurora is a knife for basic gear and a practical answer to questions like which knife to choose, which knife is good for camping, or what is the best knife for hiking.
- Everyday use (EDC): cutting packaging, cardboard, rope, cords, and various materials.
- Tourism and camping: camp tasks, rope work, gear preparation, light wood processing — a reliable outdoor fixed blade knife.
