He then served in the French Special Forces, where he honed his already impressive close combat skills and later became the champion of France in Taekwondo and then, in 1993, the champion of Europe in stick fighting.

During his years of studying Eastern hand-to-hand combat schools, he learnt Aikido and Capoeira, Filipino and Indonesian martial arts, as well as learning many knife fighting techniques from around the world. Then he created his own hand-to-hand combat school where he teaches people to fight with and without weapons. He has also worked as an instructor for the counter-terrorist special forces EPIGN.
